Newburyport is a historic coastal city across the NH border where the Merrimack River meets the Atlantic. We cover it out of our Fremont yard, about 40 minutes southeast.
All four roll-off sizes plus full-service junk removal — out of the Fremont yard.
Newburyport is a coastal Essex County city of about 18,000 people, sitting where the Merrimack River meets the Atlantic. The downtown is one of the best-preserved Colonial and Federal-era waterfronts in New England, brick storefronts and old captain's houses laid out in tight streets near the working harbor. Outside the historic core there's a mix of older neighborhoods, newer subdivisions, and the Plum Island access at the south end.
From Fremont it's about 22 miles southeast, roughly 40 minutes. Newburyport covers tight downtown streets and historic-district homes along with residential streets in the outer neighborhoods.
All four roll-off sizes: 10-yard for the tight downtown driveways and historic-district spots, 15 for medium jobs, 20 for full-house cleanouts and roof tear-offs, and 30 for contractor and demo work. We also do full-service junk removal for cleanouts where the dumpster isn't a good fit.
Downtown Newburyport is one of the harder places to drop a roll-off because of the narrow streets and short driveways near the historic district. The 10-yard usually works; anything bigger needs a careful look. Send us a photo of the spot before you book and we'll tell you what makes sense.
Downtown Newburyport runs in a tight grid of brick blocks along the Merrimack waterfront, with the Federal-era captain's houses on High Street and the surrounding residential streets. The historic district keeps the tighter footprint and the short driveways. Outside the core, the residential side opens up into older neighborhoods and newer subdivisions. The Plum Island Turnpike runs east out toward Plum Island and the beach, with cottages, year-round homes, and the wildlife refuge at the far end. Route 1 cuts north-south through the west side of town toward the bridge over the Merrimack to Salisbury, and I-95 wraps the western edge for the run back up to the NH border.
Common dumpster and junk-removal jobs in Newburyport include full-house cleanouts when a property changes hands, garage and basement cleanouts after years of accumulation, kitchen and bathroom renovations in the older homes, and roof tear-offs across the residential streets. Downtown and historic-district jobs are usually a junk removal call rather than a dumpster drop because the streets and driveways are so tight. Single-item pickups come in too, for old fridges, water heaters, or a hot tub someone wants out of the backyard. Estate cleanouts come up when a longtime owner is moving or a historic-district home changes hands. Shed, deck, and above-ground pool demos come up through the warmer months.
Newburyport is a longer drive from our Fremont yard than the NH towns just south of us, and the historic-district streets add their own access wrinkles, but we run the same four sizes. For a single-room cleanout or a bathroom remodel in the historic district, a 10-yard usually does the job and is usually the only size that fits the short downtown driveways. A 15-yard is the right call for a kitchen or a mid-size cleanout when the spot allows. Full-house cleanouts, roof tear-offs on a typical two-story, and most renovations on the outer residential streets work best in a 20-yard. For additions or larger demos, the 30-yard is the safer call if the driveway has the room.
Will a roll-off fit in the historic district? Sometimes a 10-yard, but not always. The brick blocks downtown and the streets around High Street are tight, with short driveways and street parking. For a lot of those jobs, junk removal is the better fit. Send us a photo of the spot before you book and we'll tell you what's realistic.
How long can I keep the dumpster? Standard rental is seven days. If you need an extra day or two, we can usually work that out. Anything longer and we'll need to talk about pickup timing so we can keep the box on the route.
Do you take appliances and old water heaters? Yes. Fridges and AC units have a small fee for the freon handling at the transfer station, and mattresses have a small per-item fee. What we can't take is wet paint, motor oil, asbestos, dirt or gravel, or organic wood and yard waste.
