About Amesbury

Amesbury is a small city of about 17,000 people in Essex County, Massachusetts, on the Merrimack River near the Atlantic. The town built ships when shipbuilding still meant wooden hulls, then carriages, then automobile bodies. Most of that industry is long gone, and Amesbury today is mostly residential with a compact downtown and a working mill-pond area at the heart of it.

From our Fremont yard it's about 20 miles east-southeast, roughly 35 minutes. Amesbury covers a mix of older neighborhoods near downtown and newer cul-de-sac developments out by the I-95 interchange.

What we offer in Amesbury

All four roll-off sizes: 10-yard for tight driveways and smaller projects, 15 for medium jobs, 20 for full-house cleanouts and roof tear-offs, and 30 for contractor and demo work. Plus full-service junk removal for jobs where you don't want to load it yourself.

Some of the older Amesbury neighborhoods near downtown have shorter driveways. The 10 or 15 is usually the right call there. Newer developments have plenty of room. If you're not sure what'll fit, send us a photo and we'll tell you.

Neighborhoods and roads in Amesbury

Amesbury sits on the north bank of the Merrimack near where the river meets the Atlantic. The downtown is built around the mill pond at the center of town, with the old carriage and shipbuilding industry long gone but the brick buildings still standing. Lake Gardner and the Powow River sit in the middle of the residential side, and the riverwalk runs along the water near downtown. Macy Street is one of the main residential spines working out from the center. Newer cul-de-sac developments sit out by the I-95 interchange and along the edges of town. I-95 cuts north-south through the east side and I-495 runs along the west. Route 110 and Route 150 carry most of the local traffic across town.

What customers in Amesbury usually call us for

Common dumpster and junk-removal jobs in Amesbury include full-house cleanouts when a property changes hands, garage and basement cleanouts after years of accumulation, kitchen and bathroom renovations in the older homes near downtown, and roof tear-offs across the residential streets. Single-item pickups come in too, for old fridges, water heaters, mattresses, or a hot tub that someone wants out of the backyard. Estate cleanouts come up when a longtime owner is moving or a place is going on the market. Shed, deck, and above-ground pool demos come up through the warmer months. For larger contractor jobs, like additions, downtown renovations, or new builds, a 20-yard parked for the week is usually the right size.

Sizing notes for Amesbury homes

Amesbury is a longer drive from our Fremont yard than the NH towns just south of us, but we run the same four sizes across the line. For a bathroom remodel or a single-room cleanout, a 10-yard usually does the job and fits the tighter driveways near the mill pond. A 15-yard is the right size for a kitchen or a mid-size cleanout. Full-house cleanouts, roof tear-offs on a typical two-story, and most renovations work best in a 20-yard, and the newer developments have room for one. For additions, larger demos, or contractor jobs with heavier debris, the 30-yard is the safer call.

Common questions from Amesbury customers

Will a roll-off fit on the older downtown streets near the mill pond? Usually a 10-yard works, and a 15 if the driveway has the room. Anything bigger needs a careful look at the spot. Send us a photo before you book and we'll tell you what makes sense.

Can you put the dumpster on the lawn? Usually yes. If you'd like boards under the wheels to protect the grass and the edge of the driveway, mention it when you call and we'll bring some.

Do you take appliances and old water heaters? Yes. Fridges and AC units have a small fee for the freon handling at the transfer station, and mattresses have a small per-item fee. What we can't take is wet paint, motor oil, asbestos, dirt or gravel, or organic wood and yard waste.
