About Methuen

Methuen is an Essex County city of about 53,000 people, sitting just over the New Hampshire border from Salem and Plaistow. The town's a mix of older residential neighborhoods and the Loop commercial corridor along I-93, with shopping plazas and chain stores feeding traffic from both sides of the state line. Away from the highway you've got quieter streets, older mill housing, and newer subdivisions on the outskirts.

From Fremont it's about 24 miles south-southwest, roughly 38 minutes. Methuen covers older residential streets, newer developments out toward Pelham, and the commercial Loop corridor.

What we offer in Methuen

All four roll-off sizes: 10-yard for tight driveways and smaller projects, 15 for medium jobs, 20 for full-house cleanouts and roof tear-offs, and 30 for contractor and demo work. Plus full-service junk removal for jobs where you don't want to load the container yourself.

Older Methuen neighborhoods can have shorter driveways. The 10 or 15 is usually the right call there. Newer developments on the outskirts have more room. If you're not sure what fits, send us a photo of the spot.

Neighborhoods and roads in Methuen

Methuen wraps around a busy mix of residential neighborhoods and the commercial Loop along I-93. The rotary downtown ties together Route 110, Route 113, and the local streets feeding the older mill housing and the Spicket River corridor. The old mills along the Spicket are a piece of the town's history, with the brick buildings still standing near the river. The Loop commercial area sits along I-93 with the shopping plazas and chain stores that draw cross-border traffic. Older residential streets sit closer to the center, while newer subdivisions stretch out toward Pelham and the NH border. I-93 cuts north-south through the west side and I-495 wraps the south, with the interchange at the south end of town feeding most of the commercial traffic.

What customers in Methuen usually call us for

Common dumpster and junk-removal jobs in Methuen include full-house cleanouts when a property changes hands, garage and basement cleanouts after years of accumulation, kitchen and bathroom renovations in the older homes near the center, and roof tear-offs across the residential streets. Single-item pickups come in too, for old fridges, water heaters, washers and dryers, or a hot tub someone wants gone. Estate cleanouts come up when a longtime owner is moving or a place is going on the market. Shed, deck, and above-ground pool demos come up through the warmer months. For larger contractor jobs, like additions, renovations, or new builds, a 20-yard parked for the week is usually the right size.

Sizing notes for Methuen homes

Methuen is a longer drive from our Fremont yard than the NH towns just south of us, but we run the same four sizes across the line. For a bathroom remodel or a single-room cleanout, a 10-yard usually does the job and fits the tighter older-neighborhood driveways. A 15-yard is the right size for a kitchen or a mid-size cleanout. Full-house cleanouts, roof tear-offs on a typical two-story, and most renovations work best in a 20-yard, and the newer subdivisions have room for one. For additions, larger demos, or contractor jobs running heavier debris, the 30-yard is the safer call.

Common questions from Methuen customers

How far ahead should I book? Usually the next day works. Mondays book up fastest since weekend orders come in then, so if you're aiming for a Monday delivery it helps to call by Friday.

Can you put the dumpster on the lawn? Usually yes. If you'd like boards under the wheels to protect the grass and the edge of the driveway, mention it when you call and we'll bring some.

Do you cover Salem and Plaistow too? Yes. Both are right across the NH border and we run them out of the same Fremont yard. If you've got a multi-property cleanout that spans the line, just give us all the addresses and we'll figure out the order.
