Dover is a Strafford County city on the Cocheco River, the oldest permanent settlement in New Hampshire. We cover it from our Fremont yard.
All four roll-off sizes plus full-service junk removal — out of the Fremont yard.
Dover is a city of about 32,000 with a working downtown along Central Avenue, the old textile-mill district along the Cocheco River, and residential neighborhoods spreading out in every direction. Route 16 (the Spaulding Turnpike) runs through the western edge, and the Pease Tradeport sits just south.
From our Fremont yard, Dover is about 22 miles northeast.
All four roll-off sizes are available in Dover: 10-yard for small projects and tight driveways, 15 for medium jobs, 20 for full-house cleanouts and roof tear-offs, and 30 for contractor and demo work. We also do full-service junk removal for cleanouts where you'd rather we handle the loading.
Older downtown Dover streets are tight and narrow. The 10 or 15 is usually the right call there. Newer neighborhoods on the east and south sides have more room. Send a photo if you're not sure what'll fit.
Dover is built around the Cocheco River, with the historic downtown brick blocks lining Central Avenue and the old textile-mill stock along the river. The Garrison Hill area to the north has a mix of older residential streets and the landmark park at the top. Route 16, the Spaulding Turnpike, runs along the western edge, and Route 4 cuts in from the Durham line. The neighborhoods east of downtown have newer subdivisions with bigger driveways, while the streets closer in have the older Capes, Colonials, and Victorians on tighter lots. Old downtown driveways can be narrow or shared, and a few of the historic streets are on a hill. None of that rules out a roll-off, it just means a photo of the spot helps us figure out which size fits.
Common dumpster and junk-removal jobs in Dover include roof tear-offs, full-house cleanouts when a property changes hands, and garage, attic, and basement cleanouts when somebody's catching up on storage. The older mill-era housing along the river is the kind of stock that generates renovation debris when interiors get gutted; the newer subdivisions east of downtown lean more toward roofing and addition work. Estate cleanouts come up too, especially around the older neighborhoods where ownership changes hands. Shed, deck, and above-ground pool demos come up through the warmer months, along with hot tubs and old campers. For larger contractor jobs, like additions, renovations, or new builds, a 20-yard parked for the week is usually the right size, and a 30 for full gut jobs.
Dover is one of our longer NH stops from the Fremont yard, but the four sizes run the same. For a single room or a garage corner, the 10-yard is usually the right size. For a roof on an average house or a full garage, the 15 or 20 is the better pick. Full house cleanouts where every room is going usually call for the 20-yard. The 30 is for big demo jobs or contractor renovations where the volume is high. In the historic downtown, the 10 is usually the size that fits on the older streets. Send a photo of the spot and we'll tell you what'll work.
Will a roll-off fit on a historic downtown street? Depends on the street and the driveway. Some of the older downtown blocks have narrow driveways or shared access, and a 20 or 30 won't always fit. The 10 is usually the size that works. If even the 10 doesn't fit, junk removal where we load the truck ourselves may be the better fit.
Do you take appliances and old water heaters? Yes, both go in the roll-off or the junk removal truck. Things we can't take in NH are wet paint, motor oil, asbestos, dirt or gravel, and organic wood or brush.
How long can I keep the dumpster? Standard rental is seven days. If you need it longer, let us know when you book and we'll work it out.
