About Rochester

Rochester is a city of about 33,000 with a working downtown along North Main Street, the East Rochester and Gonic villages set in the old mill districts, and residential neighborhoods filling the rest. The Spaulding Turnpike (Route 16) runs through the western side and connects out to Portsmouth and the Lakes Region.

From our Fremont yard, Rochester is about 28 miles north.

What we offer in Rochester

All four roll-off sizes are available in Rochester: 10-yard for small projects and tight driveways, 15 for medium jobs, 20 for full-house cleanouts and roof tear-offs, and 30 for contractor and demo work. We also do full-service junk removal for cleanouts where you'd rather we handle the loading.

Downtown Rochester and the older mill-village streets are tight with short driveways. The 10 or 15 is usually the right call there. Newer outer neighborhoods have more room.

Neighborhoods and roads in Rochester

Rochester is built around the Cocheco River with downtown along North Main Street. Route 16, the Spaulding Turnpike, runs through the western side, and Routes 11 and 125 cross through the city as well. The East Rochester and Gonic villages sit in the old mill districts with the older brick and frame stock and tighter residential streets. The residential subdivisions on the outer edges have more breathing room and standard driveways. Downtown blocks have the older Capes, Colonials, and Victorians on tight lots with short setbacks, and some of the mill-village streets are narrow with shared driveways. None of that rules out a roll-off, it just means a photo of the spot helps before delivery so we can figure out which size fits.

What customers in Rochester usually call us for

Common dumpster and junk-removal jobs in Rochester include roof tear-offs, full-house cleanouts when a property changes hands, and garage, attic, and basement cleanouts when somebody's catching up on storage. The older mill-village housing in East Rochester and Gonic is the kind of stock that generates renovation debris when interiors get reworked; the newer residential subdivisions lean more toward roofing and addition work. Estate cleanouts come up too. Shed, deck, and above-ground pool demos come up through the warmer months, along with hot tubs and old campers. For larger contractor jobs, like additions, renovations, or new builds, a 20-yard parked for the week is usually the right size, and a 30 if the project is a full gut.

Sizing notes for Rochester homes

Rochester is one of our longer NH stops from the Fremont yard, but the four sizes run the same. For a single room or a garage corner, the 10-yard is usually the right size. For a roof on an average house or a full garage, the 15 or 20 is the better pick. Full house cleanouts where every room is going usually call for the 20-yard, and the 30 is for big demo jobs or full contractor renovations. In the downtown and mill-village streets, the 10 is usually the size that fits the older driveways. Send a photo of the spot and we'll tell you what'll work.

Common questions from Rochester customers

Will a roll-off fit on a downtown or mill-village street? Depends on the street and the driveway. Some of the older blocks in East Rochester and Gonic have narrow or shared driveways, and the 20 or 30 won't always fit. The 10 is usually the size that works. If even the 10 doesn't fit, junk removal where we load the truck ourselves may be the better fit.

Do you take appliances and old water heaters? Yes, both go in the roll-off or the junk removal truck. Things we can't take in NH are wet paint, motor oil, asbestos, dirt or gravel, and organic wood or brush.

How long can I keep the dumpster? Standard rental is seven days. If you need it longer, let us know when you book and we'll work it out.
