Somersworth is a small Strafford County city on the Salmon Falls River, along the Maine border between Dover and Rochester. We cover it from our Fremont yard.
All four roll-off sizes plus full-service junk removal — out of the Fremont yard.
Somersworth is a city of about 12,000 with an old mill downtown along High Street, the Hilltop neighborhood above it, and residential streets filling the rest. The Salmon Falls River and the Berwick, Maine line form the eastern border, and Route 108 carries most of the commercial activity through town.
From our Fremont yard, Somersworth is about 28 miles north.
All four roll-off sizes are available in Somersworth: 10-yard for small projects and tight driveways, 15 for medium jobs, 20 for full-house cleanouts and roof tear-offs, and 30 for contractor and demo work. We also do full-service junk removal for cleanouts where you'd rather we handle the loading.
The older downtown and Hilltop streets are tight with short driveways and stone walls. The 10 or 15 is usually the right call there. Newer outer neighborhoods have more room.
Somersworth is built around the Salmon Falls River with downtown along High Street and the Berwick, Maine border on the eastern edge. Route 108 carries most of the commercial activity through town, and Route 9 cuts across toward Rochester. The old mill downtown has the older brick and frame stock with short driveways and stone walls, and the Hilltop neighborhood above it has the older residential streets on tighter lots. The outer residential streets and newer subdivisions toward the edges of the city have standard driveways with more room. Older downtown driveways can be narrow or shared, and a few of the historic streets are on a hill. None of that rules out a roll-off, it just means a photo of the spot helps before delivery so we can figure out which size fits.
Common dumpster and junk-removal jobs in Somersworth include roof tear-offs, full-house cleanouts when a property changes hands, and garage, attic, and basement cleanouts when somebody's catching up on storage. The older mill-era housing along the river brings in renovation debris when interiors get reworked, and the Hilltop neighborhood brings in roofing and exterior work. Estate cleanouts come up too, especially around the older streets where ownership changes hands. Shed, deck, and above-ground pool demos come up through the warmer months, along with hot tubs and old campers. For larger contractor jobs, like additions, renovations, or new builds, a 20-yard parked for the week is usually the right size, and a 30 if the project is a full gut.
Somersworth is one of our longer NH stops from the Fremont yard, but the four sizes run the same. For a single room or a garage corner, the 10-yard is usually the right size. For a roof on an average house or a full garage, the 15 or 20 is the better pick. Full house cleanouts where every room is going usually call for the 20-yard, and the 30 is for big demo jobs or full contractor renovations. Downtown and in the Hilltop neighborhood, the 10 is usually the size that fits the older driveways. Send a photo of the spot and we'll tell you what'll work.
Will a roll-off fit on a historic downtown street? Depends on the street and the driveway. Some of the older blocks downtown have narrow driveways or stone walls along the edge, and a 20 or 30 won't always fit. The 10 is usually the size that works. If even the 10 doesn't fit, junk removal where we load the truck ourselves may be the better fit.
Can you put the dumpster on the lawn? Usually yes. If you'd like boards under the wheels, mention it when you call and we'll bring some. The 10 and 15 sit easier on grass than the bigger sizes.
How long can I keep the dumpster? Standard rental is seven days. If you need it longer, let us know when you book and we'll work it out.
