New Durham is a Strafford County town on Merrymeeting Lake, at the edge of the Lakes Region. We cover it from our Fremont yard.
All four roll-off sizes plus full-service junk removal — out of the Fremont yard.
New Durham is a town of about 2,700 with a small town center, Merrymeeting Lake on the north side, and most of the land taken up by woods, camps, and rural residential. Route 11 runs through the middle of town and connects out to Alton and Rochester.
From our Fremont yard, New Durham is about 30 miles north.
All four roll-off sizes are available in New Durham: 10-yard for small projects and tight driveways, 15 for medium jobs, 20 for full-house cleanouts and roof tear-offs, and 30 for contractor and demo work. We also do full-service junk removal for cleanouts where you'd rather we handle the loading.
Camp roads around Merrymeeting Lake can be narrow and soft, especially in spring. The 10 or 15 is usually the right call there. Out on the main roads there's plenty of room for the bigger sizes.
New Durham has Route 11 running through the middle, with the small town center along the route and the rest of town spread across woods, camps, and rural residential land. Merrymeeting Lake is the main water feature on the north side, with cottage and year-round housing wrapped around it, and Powder Mill Pond sits in the lower part of town. The cottage roads off Merrymeeting can be narrow, sandy, or seasonal, and a few have low tree branches or steep grades down to the water. The main route through town has standard driveways with plenty of room, and the rural residential lots back from the main road have long driveways tucked into the woods. A photo of the spot helps before delivery, especially on any of the lake-area drops where the access road shapes what'll fit.
Common dumpster and junk-removal jobs in New Durham include cottage cleanouts when a Merrymeeting Lake property changes hands, roof tear-offs on the residential housing, and full-house cleanouts. The camps around the lake sometimes call in for seasonal cleanouts or interior renovations when a place gets reworked. Garage, basement, and barn cleanouts come up across the rural-residential housing. Estate cleanouts come up when ownership changes hands. Shed, deck, and above-ground pool demos come up through the warmer months, along with hot tubs and old campers. For larger contractor jobs, like additions, renovations, or new builds, a 20-yard parked for the week is usually the right size, and a 30 if the project is a full gut.
New Durham is one of our longer reaches from the Fremont yard. We don't run up that way every week, but the four sizes work the same. For a single room or a garage corner, the 10-yard is usually the right size. For a roof on an average house or a full garage, the 15 or 20 is the better pick. Full house cleanouts where every room is going usually call for the 20-yard, and the 30 is for big demo jobs or full contractor renovations. On the cottage side, the 10 or 15 is usually the size that fits the access road.
Do you really come out this far? Yes. We're based in Fremont and most of our work is closer in, but we run up to New Durham when the job's booked. The drive time doesn't change the rental price.
Can you get a roll-off down a lake-area access road? Depends on the road. A lot of the Merrymeeting cottage roads are narrow, sandy, or have low tree branches. Send us a photo of the road and the drop spot and we'll tell you what'll fit. If the road is too tight, junk removal where we bring the truck and load it ourselves can be the better option.
How long can I keep the dumpster? Standard rental is seven days. If you need it longer, let us know when you book and we'll work it out.
