New Castle is the island town off Portsmouth, home to Fort Stark and the Wentworth-by-the-Sea hotel. We cover it from our Fremont yard, about 40 minutes east.
All four roll-off sizes plus full-service junk removal — out of the Fremont yard.
New Castle is an island town just off Portsmouth, with the harbor on one side and the open ocean on the other. Fort Stark is a historic coastal fortification, and the Wentworth-by-the-Sea hotel is the recognizable landmark on the bay side. The town has a small population and runs at a quieter pace year-round, with more activity in the summer months.
From Fremont, New Castle is about 27 miles east, roughly 40 minutes including the run across the bridge from Portsmouth.
All four roll-off sizes are available in New Castle: 10-yard for small projects, 15 for mid-size work, 20 for full-house cleanouts and roof tear-offs, and 30 for contractor and demo jobs. We also do full-service junk removal when you'd rather we did the loading.
Driveways on New Castle tend to be tighter because of the island geography. The 10-yard or 15-yard is often the right call. Send us a photo of the spot and we'll plan it.
Getting onto New Castle means coming across Route 1B from the Portsmouth side. Once you're on Great Island, the streets are short and tight, with the harbor on one side and the open water on the other. Most of the homes are on close-set lots, and the driveways tend to be short. The streets around the Wentworth-By- The-Sea hotel have a quieter, more residential feel, with a mix of older summer-stock homes and newer year-round residences. Closer to Portsmouth Harbor, the streets work down toward the water with views across the harbor. The island setting shapes everything about placement here. If we can't fit a roll-off at the address itself, sometimes a junk-removal crew is the better call. Send us a photo of the driveway and the street approach and we'll figure it out.
Common dumpster and junk-removal jobs in New Castle include renovations on older coastal homes, kitchen and bath remodels, and the usual single-item appliance pickups. Estate cleanouts come up when ownership changes hands. Shed, deck, and above-ground pool demos come up through the warmer months, though there aren't many of those on the island. For larger contractor jobs, like additions, renovations, or new builds, a 20-yard parked for the week is usually the right size, when the lot can handle it. Junk removal calls come in for cottage cleanouts and older furniture clear-outs where the owner would rather not load a container themselves.
New Castle is one of our longer-drive coastal stops out of the Fremont yard, though the island setting means placement has to be planned more carefully than other towns. For a single room cleanout or a small bath remodel, a 10-yard is usually the right size, and on most island driveways the 10-yard fits where the bigger ones don't. A 15-yard handles a kitchen tear-out where the driveway allows. The 20-yard works on the few larger residential lots near the Wentworth side. The 30-yard rarely makes sense on the island.
Will a roll-off fit on a tight island driveway? Usually the 10-yard does. Anything bigger and we need to see a photo of the driveway and the street approach before delivery. If the spot won't hold a container, junk removal is sometimes the better fit.
How long can I keep the dumpster? Standard rental is seven days. If you need an extra day or two, we can usually work that out. Anything longer and we'll need to talk about pickup timing so we can keep the box on the route.
Do you take appliances and old water heaters? Yes. Fridges and AC units have a small fee for the freon handling at the transfer station, and mattresses have a small per-item fee. What we can't take is wet paint, motor oil, asbestos, dirt or gravel, or organic wood and yard waste.
