Fremont is a small Rockingham county town in southeastern New Hampshire, about 20 minutes inland from the Seacoast and 45 minutes from Boston. From there, the two roads that matter most for our routing are NH-107 running north to south through Fremont and into Kingston, and NH-125 a few miles east through Epping and Brentwood. The town center sits around the meetinghouse and the library, with most older homes clustered along the older roads radiating out from there. Spaulding and Frost Cooperage is one of the longest-standing businesses in town, a working barrel maker that has been here for generations. Glen Oaks Country Club is at the south end of town, and Pawtuckaway State Park is a short drive west.
Since we live here, we get a wide mix. The most common reasons people call from Fremont are house cleanouts when a property is going on the market, garage and basement cleanouts after years of accumulation, kitchen and bathroom remodels where the contractor wants debris off the floor, and roof tear-offs on the older home stock around the center of town. We also get a steady flow of single-item pickups, things like an old hot tub on the back deck, a fridge that finally quit, or a stack of mattresses left behind by a previous owner. Estate cleanouts are another one we see regularly, often handled in a single weekend with a 20-yard parked on the driveway.
